Village Roadshow Pictures has inked a multi-year, first-look deal with David S. Goyer’s Phantom Four Films to source, develop and produce feature films. Through the terms of the deal, Phantom Four President of Production, Keith Levine, will oversee development and produce with Goyer.
As part of the deal, Phantom Four will produce the remake of cult-classic psychological thriller film THE REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD, based on the novel of the same name. Visionary filmmaker Sean Durkin will write and direct. Daniel Ostroff, Michael Gaeta, and Alison Rosenzweig will also produce. The original film is part of the library controlled by Vine Alternative Investments.
Phantom Four and Village Roadshow Pictures previously announced the development project LEGACY, an original action thriller from writer TJ Fixman.

Phantom Four, founded by David S. Goyer and run by president Keith Levine, specializes in high-concept elevated genre fare for both film and television. Upcoming releases include the Scott Cooper-directed ANTLERS produced by Guillermo Del Toro at Searchlight Pictures. They recently released the Sundance acquisition THE NIGHT HOUSE directed by David Bruckner. Next up for them is a reimagining of HELLRAISER from a story by Goyer also directed by Bruckner. In addition, they have the Alexandre Aja directed ELIJAH also at Searchlight, action/thriller ROGUE at STX, an OMEN prequel at 20th Century Studios and the Stephen King/Joe Hill adaptation THROTTLE at HBO Max. Goyer also serves as showrunner on FOUNDATION for Apple/Skydance which premieres on September 24th and is also co-writing and producing the upcoming SANDMAN for Netflix with Neil Gaiman.

Durkin’s credits include writing, directing, and producing THE NEST starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The film was named one of the Top 10 Independent Films by the National Board of Review in 2021. Durkin’s first feature was the critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene, which he wrote and directed. The film premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was Elizabeth Olsen’s film debut. Durkin is currently directing four episodes, including the pilot, and executive producing “Dead Ringers” for Amazon and Annapurna. He is represented by UTA, Management 360 and Nelson Davis.
